Catherynne M. Valente has released a YA novel directly onto the web, with a new chapter put up every Monday. It’s called ‘The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making’.
The nice (well, ‘nicer’) thing about this e-book is she’s also putting up an audio stream/download of her giving a reading of the chapter as well.
Presumably this will be the case with all the chapters, so go take a look. There’s an option to donate to the author if you find you like the book.

Not something I’d be interested in, but I know some people are very into the social media scene.
As part of their ‘Summer of Social good’ Mashable are giving away a few free Social Media books to the winners of a competition this week.
